skin.
Having smooth, firm skin means having fewer fine lines and wrinkles, right?
What kind of face muscle toning exercises can smooth out and firm up your skin?
The first thing you have to understand is that any area on the face or neck that can move is attached to an underlying muscle. When the muscles weaken, skin begins to sag.
Also, when you move your face by making facial expressions - and you make hundreds per day - you have the potential to allow a fine line or
wrinkle to form. Repeated movements of the face over time, coupled with weakened muscles and collagen breakdown, give us wrinkles in these areas.
Expression lines can form from smiling, frowning, furrowing your brows, squinting your eyes, and just about any other movement you can think of
repeated in the same area. As the years go by, you can even get fine lines and wrinkles from repeatedly sleeping on one side of your face because you're pushing on the same muscles all the time.
What happens when you begin re-training and toning those underlying muscles in the face and neck is that they shorten or tighten up, while at the same time lifting up and smoothing out the attached skin on those
areas of the face and neck.
Fine lines are the first thing to go because as you work on the underlying muscles, the muscles re-build and push out, making the fine lines disappear.
You may notice at first that the deeper wrinkles appear to get deeper, but that's when you know the exercises are working.
As the muscles are in the process of re-building and toning, the attached skin goes through a transformation, as well. The wrinkle on the skin may appear to become wider or deeper, but once the muscles are toned, the wrinkle will be pushed out, or filled in, and you will find your skin become smoother, firmer and younger-looking as a result.
So, while deep wrinkles may take a longer time to smoothen out, smoothen out they will if you keep performing toning exercises.
In just 15 minutes per day, you can begin to tone and re-build those underlying muscles in your face and neck with a series of face muscle
toning exercises.
Starting at the top of the face (worry lines on the forehead, “elevens” between the eyes) and working your way down the face and neck
(performing stretches, massages and movements) you will notice a definite
improvement in the texture and overall tone of your skin.
Once the muscles begin to respond, you will see the attached skin on your neck and face transform. It will become smoother, firmer, toned, tightened, lifted and you will look well-rested and years younger.
